Daryl Cockburn studied filmmaking and screenwriting at the University of the West of Scotland, where he was awarded the Court Medal for Most distinguished student three times. He is now a freelance filmmaker based in Glasgow. He has recently completed the short cinematic poem Introperspective, about the banking crises which he directed and was also director of photography. His previous short film FATE was screened at film festivals throughout Europe and he has also completed the documentaries Auschwitz: The Visit and The Light at the End of the Tunnel. As well as working regularly with the National Theatre of Scotland, most recently he has been on stage as a camera operator for the critically acclaimed Vanishing Point production The Destroyed Room which toured the UK.
